Peach Dump Cake

Apr 08 2016

We have been busy getting our daughter ready for her move to Bowling Green. We got the truck loaded and ready for the trip up tomorrow. Our son and wife and my wife are going up tomorrow; me and the dog will stay home. I am no help since I can’t lift; I am a good boss but the wife is better!

I am not cooking until after the move but I did find time to make a dessert yesterday. I did fellow LTBBQ member highonsmoke’s peach dump cake. I have made one with caramel syrup but his looked good so thought I would give it a try. I would have liked the nuts, pecans or walnuts but no one else likes them so I omitted them.

I did add some cream cheese I had to use. I used 4 oz. and poured most of the peach juice over and mixed well. I poured it over the peaches before adding the cake mix, brown sugar and butter. I did it at 350 deg. for 55 minutes. I would say it doesn’t make the prettiest presentation but the taste makes up for that. It is best IMO served with some vanilla ice cream!

Peach dump cake
2 16 0z cans of peaches
1 yellow or white cake mix
Pecans or walnuts chopped (optional)
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 sticks of butter

Dump the peaches into a greased 9X13 dish. Dump the cake mix in and spread out even. Dump the nuts over if using. Dump the brown sugar over evenly. Place butter pats on top. I just used about 1 ½ sticks. Bake in a preheated 350 deg. oven for 55 minutes. Cool and enjoy, good served with some vanilla ice cream!
